In XVET’s October 2021 Newsletter, we shared a graphical representation of WATT Global Media’s annual Poultry Feed & Nutrition Survey (Graph I) with the percentages of usage of antibiotic in poultry production. The survey relied on the input of 560 replies from professionals (vets, nutritionists, consultants) all around the world. Aim of the Trial: Assess the effect of XVET`s Metavolin Herbal® on Pre-Peak and Peak Performance of laying hens
It has been demonstrated that supporting the liver during stressful periods can lead to improvement of layer performance. It was hypothesized, that Metavolin Herbal® enhances the chicken`s metabolism by supporting the hepatic system, thus leading to an increased performance and better health of the birds, which might be useful especially around peak of laying when hepatic stress factors are at its highest.
Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) or Gumboro is a disease affecting poultry health which increases mortality due to bursal atrophy in the broiler. Another cause of this disease is immunosuppression. Therefore, enhancing immunity is a good strategy to support the animals against this disease.

In poultry productions and more on broiler houses, bedding of the farms plays an important role in general performance and health of the animals living in it. Litter helps to absorb moisture, retain fecal material, and provide a level of conformity due to the insulation effect between the floor and animals. Good management of the litter will prove direct effects on the animals, due to the constant contact of the animal with it. An improvement in litter conditions can translate to better production parameters and higher profits.
XVET’s Drymax at a dosage of 50 gr/m2 helped to improve the litter quality regarding moisture and vector control. As well as showing an improvement in ammonia levels in comparison to the control group.Read more “Drymax on litter quality and ammonia level”
The eggshell is a protective shield for the contents of the egg, giving not only a structure but also a membrane that allows the egg to exchange gas and humidity through it. Good eggshell quality is affected by various factors such as the strain of the animal, age, usage of medications, stress, and nutrition. One important factor that can be enhanced is nutrition; the addition of a good and balanced source of calcium and phosphorus will help to improve the eggshell quality. A bad eggshell quality will result in broken eggs, deformed eggs, or bad hatchability; which translates to big economic losses for producers.
The results of this study are showing that Ovostrong administration in layer farms will help to obtain higher performance levels by increasing egg quality and egg production rate; which will lead to a higher return on investment, especially in older laying hens.Read more “Ovostrong (XVET Germany) enhancing the performance parameters on laying hens”
The effect of Zincotin, XVET Germany on broiler breeder performances’ was estimated in this study.
The experiment was done at a broiler breeder farm in the North of Iran. 30.278 birds (Arbor Acres Plus) were evaluated in 8 houses of this farm from week 40 to 67 of the production period.
Since roosters in this study received Zinc in both feed (Organic Zinc) and drinking water (Zincotin) and also hatchability in the treatment group was much higher than the control group, we could conclude that Zinc availability for birds in breeder farm (Hens and roosters) is vital in the breeder farms for achieving the higher hatchability under appropriate condition.

Egg production has become a key protein source in modern society due to the rise of animal protein prices on the market. One of the most important parts of the egg is the eggshell which will give structure and strength to the egg as well as the capacity for it to exchange humidity and oxygen through it. In XVET we put Cal D Phos to the test to see the improvements recorded using this product on the field. After administrating Cal D Phos the eggshell increased in thickness over 0.11mm in average in comparison to thickness measurements before the use of Cal D Phos.
