Phytogenics

Phytogenics

Phytogenic activities as NAGPs

Botanical extracts or essential oils have potential of being a major factor in the purpose of replacing  Antibiotic Growth Promoters (AGP) due to their phenolic compound contents (e.g. thymol, carvacrol, eugenol, allicin, anethol, etc.). It has been reported that phytogenics stimulate digestive enzyme secretion and enhance feed intake. Also they are known to be effective in reducing pathogenic pressure in the gut, and reinforcing immune system. Different phenolic compounds, possess different antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. Due to their natural features, there is no risks of resistance. Thus, phytogenics can be used to enhance animal performance safely without the setbacks of chemicals.
Literature overview
It has been studied that Anise seeds are significantly improving blood profile and could be considered as an effective physiological promoter in growing broilers (Al-Shammari et al., 2017). In the Ramón Silva Vázquez et al. paper, (2017) the effect of thymol and oregano oil on chicken performance has been investigated. It is showed that feed efficiency was improved by the treatments and it showed beneficial effects on broiler weight, feed efficiency, average daily gain, feed and water intakes. Furthermore, positive effect of Thyme oil as growth promoter with positive effect on economic performance and immune response was published (Attia. Et el., 2017).  Kali Linville (2017) showed the effect of essential oils on rumen microbial fermentation and ruminant energy utilization specially by phenolic compounds (thymol, carvacrol).

Our Proposal

A synergic activity of essential oils enhancing the digestive system and combating oxidative, bacterial and viral stress

OregoPlus indication and features
OregoPlus® is one of the main XVET NAGP products with an optimized synergy of essential oils (Phytogenics).
OregoPlus® is composed of the rich and concentrated combination of Oregano, Thyme, Tea tree and Anise oils. They help to enhance water and feed intake, as well as production parameters such as weight gain and feed conversion rate. Therefore they are considered as growth promoters. The key is the synergy. Oregano oil helps to improve intestinal properties such as villus height and surface area, and as well helps to decrease the presence of E. coil in chicken gut. Anise oil stimulates digestion and also has certain antibacterial, anti-fungal, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Thyme oil is good to help reduce mortality in cases of acute clinical infections. Relaxes air passage in case of respiratory situations. Tea tree oil has selective activity over bacteria, fungi, virus and some protozoa. It is known to have strong activity against Staphylococcus aureus. Each individual oil is also strong anti-oxidant and helps against stress caused by free-radicals.
OregoPlus® is designed to be used throughout the entire cycle 1-2 times a week, or also it can be used in high-risk periods for 2-3 days continuously. It is supportive before and after vaccination periods, in the final period of broiler rearing to decrease the risks of sub-clinical conditions, or in peak production periods of breeders and layers. Orego Plus® is ideal for the final fattening period for all animals to maintain livability, and to improve carcass quality with its powerful antioxidant activity.

Main benefits of OregoPlus®
  • SUPPORTS INCREASE OF FEED INTAKE
  • STIMULATES DIGESTION
  • HELPS TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE PARAMETERS AND GROWTH
  • SUPPORT IN CASE OF DIGESTIVE DISTURBANCES
  • ENHANCES FEED EFFICIENCY, THUS PROFITABILITY
Form and target species
OregoPlus® is a multi-species product available both in liquid and powder form.
