In XVET’s October 2021 Newsletter, we shared a graphical representation of WATT Global Media’s annual Poultry Feed & Nutrition Survey (Graph I) with the percentages of usage of antibiotic in poultry production. The survey relied on the input of 560 replies from professionals (vets, nutritionists, consultants) all around the world. This survey is used as an overview of the current situation of poultry production at international level.Read more “GOOD NEWS: Antibiotic-free Animal Feed in 2021”
Cinnamon is much more than a spice to be added to your cookies. Despite being popular in EU, Cinnamon had a super long journey from Southeast Asia to Europe in ancient times.
At XVET, we have Cinnacid, with great synergy in between cinnamaldehyde and organic acids. This synergy will help to boost the feed quality and reduce the pathogen pressure in the gut.
Let’s take a look at step-by-step look on how cinnamon can improve animal health.Read more “Cinnamon – pamper your animals especially during cold days”
Have you heard about Chicory yet?
In recent years, there have been several studies investigating the positive effects of this multi-purpose plant in farm animals.
Adding Chicory to the feed, has many benefits such as anti-parasitic effects which are mostly studied in ruminants when using Chicory as forage. It is also known to have antibacterial activities.
At XVET you can get the benefit of this multi-purpose phytogenic by adding Bacflora BR to the broiler feed. Bacflora BR is a synbiotic product of XVET, enriched by natural Chicory powder.
Nowadays, it is well accepted in nutrition & animal sciences that trace minerals (zinc, copper and manganese, iron, iodine, selenium) are crucial for the maintenance of health, antioxidant protection, improvement of performance and reproduction in livestock and companion animals.
Well-known examples include, for example, the need for iron for hemoglobin in young mammals, the use of selenium for its antioxidative capacity in all life stages or the usage of zinc to maintain skin health by supporting epithelia regeneration. For these functions to be optimal, it is important to consider trace element sources of high bioavailability.Read more “Trace elements – key to success?”
In poultry productions and more on broiler houses, bedding of the farms plays an important role in general performance and health of the animals living in it. Litter helps to absorb moisture, retain fecal material, and provide a level of conformity due to the insulation effect between the floor and animals. Good management of the litter will prove direct effects on the animals, due to the constant contact of the animal with it. An improvement in litter conditions can translate to better production parameters and higher profits.
XVET’s Drymax at a dosage of 50 gr/m2 helped to improve the litter quality regarding moisture and vector control. As well as showing an improvement in ammonia levels in comparison to the control group.Read more “Drymax on litter quality and ammonia level”
