Probiotics as NAGPs
Pathogenic agents infect animals through a diverse range of entry points, either vertical (from mother to offspring) , horizontal (from animal to animal through fluids, feces or skin lesions) or through a set of other contamination sources such as water, air, litter, feed, personnel, visitors, vectors etc. Probiotics are live microbial feed supplements which beneficially affect the host by improving its intestinal microbial balance, a key step for disease control. The establishment of gut flora in chicks may take up to 10 days to be completed, increasing the predisposition of transient pathogens to attack, penetrate and colonize. Stress, toxins, intensive antibiotic treatments, disease pressure, sub-clinical situations, dehydration and altered electrolyte balance counteract the gut flora stability. The animals need support to overcome the adverse effects of these conditions. The early establishment of the gut flora protects animals from this risk and improves the health of the intestinal mucosa, ensuring optimum absorption of nutritional factors and micronutrients.
Our Proposal
Synergistic ingredients for intestinal bio-security!
Bacflora F indication and feature
Bacflora-F is a synbiotic (Prebiotic + Probiotic) product and counts with the acidifying effect of rich organic acids as well. This balanced synergy of ingredients, helps to enhance gut health and ensures digestive performance.
Specific functional bacterial spores in Bacflora-F are contributing to early establishment of beneficial flora and helping to enhance mucosa resistance against pathogens, and improve local immune response. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is an acid/base resistant prebiotic, and can travel to hind gut without being digested, making possible that the activity is extended through the entire digestive system. Yeast extract is rich in MOS (Mannan OligoSsaccharide) and also in β-Glucan. MOS has the ability to attach certain pathogens, agglutinating, and making them harmless in means of attachment and colonization. Mixture of Organic and in-organic acids helps to reduce quickly the gastric pH and are also associated with effective protein hydrolysis, improving performance parameters. Organic acids also possess antifungal and antibacterial activities in low pH environments. Smart formula of Bacflora F, ensures gut health performance.
University trial result
In a previous study by Sudan University of Science and Technology*, synergic effect of Bacflora F on broiler performance and also a comparison to antibiotics growth promoter (klavamycin) usage was investigated. Feed consumption and weight gain were significantly (P< 0.05) higher in groups fed by feed included probiotics plus prebiotic. Carcass quality factors such as: crude protein, crude fat, total solids (TS), acidity (Ph) and total number of muscle fiber (T.N.F) were also (P< 0.05) significantly higher in groups fed by feed included probiotics and prebiotic.
It is concluded that using synergy of specific prebiotics plus probiotic in feed as a growth parameter can be an alternative to antibiotics as growth promoter.
